My name is Ahmed Abdelaal, and I’m a Ph.D candidate in the Civil Engineering Department at McMaster University. I have over 7 years of experience working on major stormwater and flood protection projects across the Middle East. I was fortunate to lead important projects at a young age while working for one of the top international engineering firms in the region.
Now based in Canada, my research focuses on how we can make our cities and communities more resilient to challenges like climate change and urban growth. I’m especially interested in finding better ways to manage rainwater, reduce flooding, and protect infrastructure through smart, green and sustainable solutions.
I’m passionate about connecting my engineering experience with meaningful research to help create safer, more livable cities for the future.
